Vanity callsign submitted

So I finally submitted my Vanity callsign Application. I finally settled on one that i thought I could get along with, and would roll off the tongue pretty well while on the radios. I am not going to reveal what it is, as I do not want to jinx myself. I will post an entry when I know for sure what's going on with it.

Entering the World of Arduino.

Ok, so I gave in and bought an Arduino Uno. I saw these first come out several years ago and figured I wold not have a use for them. But now that I am into amateur radio, there are several ideas floating in my head. Some of which are Foxhunting, automatic beacons,  CW Keyer, a voice keyer, trackers, many ideas.

So what is an Arduino?......

Plenty of competetion for a Vanity callsign.

So I get up this morning to check the status of my vanity callsign application and I see that four others have applied for it as well. All but one of us have only one c allsign listed on their application. So it looks like my chances are one in five, might have to start looking for another call. I won't know the status for several days, maybe other apps will drop out for some reason.......  One can only hope.

No Vanity Callsign this time.

Well, didn't get the callsign I put in for, W2YW, so for now I am still KC2ZPK, not that is is bad or anything. I currently don't see anything that I really like, so I am going to hold off for a little while. I will be checking in periodically as the site shows callsigns that are coming up 30 days in the future. I can probably check every other week and see what is on the horizon. Maybe next time!

70cm UHF Repeater Build Up, Update 4

Spent a few hours working on the repeater last night. I was attempting to finish up the radio to controller cabling, but it didn't quite go so well.  It turns out to be quite difficult to solder 3 coax audio cables and some control lines to a D-sub-9 connector. Poor eyesight is definitely a factor which I need to remedy! So after all the lines were connected and plugged in to both the repeater and controller I gave it a go.
